This paper requires students to discuss the types of stressors encountered in the story they made up lives, their coping strategies utilized, evidence of impact on the immune system, and success at incorporating new strategies to mitigate chronic stress activation. Elements required:
1. Identify one original research article related to some aspect of stress and coping that interests you.
Describe the hypothesis, methodology, and results of the study, as well as a description of how such research is relevant to neurobiology and clinical practice. 2. Identify a stressor that they currently encounter in their life.
Describe the nature of the stressor(e.g., acute, chronic, mild, intense, physical, psychological) and their subsequent response to the stressor (e.g., passive, active). 3. Discuss the coping profiles and propose ways to modify these strategies that will provide a buffer against the toxicity of the chronic stress response.  Include at least 5 references from current professional journals in social work, psychology, psychiatry, or other closely related fields. The story should be about a young lady with five young kids under the ages of 10 years old. She has a full-time sometimes working 50 hours a week, she is in college part time, doing internship 2 days a week, and her baby daddy lives and work out of town. She moved to Texas 3 years ago living her family and friend behind. She is struggling to pay her bills, after care, and baby sitter for her youngest son, even with the help of her babies daddy. After working 13 hours stressful shift, she would pick her kids up from the caretaker, go home, make supper and get them to bed. She would try to study a little bit before she goes to bed. She hardly get enough sleep and she has been fighting with her babies daddy.
