hospital setting requirement
Patient requires a complete head-to-toe physical examination upon admission but does not require subsequent head-to-toe physical exam on a daily basis.
Patient does require consistent specialized examination at least every 8 hours that focuses on certain parameters.
Check with facility policy and procedure for indicated frequency of assessments.
Note that some measurements, such as daily weights, abdominal girth, or circumference of a limb, must be measured using a consistent approach.
Many assessments are ongoing throughout the shift.
