When creating your research study/ project, use a template that addresses the key components to ensure the study is understood from beginning to end. This template may provide a good starting point for the project:

Methods (how did you gather the information for this study?) Identify how you conducted your study or research. (e.g., During this study, the researcher used a questionnaire during a face-to-face interview and questioned 20 prehospital providers what they thought about … ) You must use reputable resources to support your study and be sure to cite each source properly to avoid plagiarism. You can also interview at least 20professionals in the health and/or EMS/ FIRE professions. If you interview participants, you must also identify what category each respondent is in (e.g. 1 year, 2 year, 5 years as EMT).
Questions to ask the participants :
If you choose to interview participants, you will ask 20-30 healthcare providers the questions and record their responses. Categorize answers into common themes, years of experience, certification levels, and any responses they provide:
1. Example: What certification level do you hold and how many years of experience do you have as a healthcare provider (e.g. 1-5 years, 5-10 years; EMT, PM, RN, MD) 2. Example: Do you believe Fire & EMS providers should be proactive in educating the public about the use and misuse of EMS?
3. Example” As a health care provider, what types of education would you recommend providing to the community?
Results
Use specific criteria to describe the results you obtained from your research and resources (e.g., Of the 20 healthcare providers that responded to the survey: 18 of 20 [90%] believe Fire & EMS providers should be proactive in educating the public about the use and misuse of EMS). Make sure your results clearly identify all components of your research and that all responses/ data are accounted for. Supply a graph or chart to identify categories of respondents (if interviewing participants, DO NOTidentify any participants by name or agency) . Remember, the data should clearly speak for itself and allow the reader to interpret the validity and reliability of your research. Conclusion
