Each student will participate in an on-line exercise (see URL/link below) to assess his/her leadership skills. Go to the following resource: Leadership Assessment Tool Inventory – Assess Your Skills (http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/faculty/uzzi/htm/teaching-leadership.htm) OR here is the URL: http://www.kellogg.northwestern.edu/faculty/uzzi/htm/teaching-leadership.htm The student will then write a 1,000 – 1,500 word paper discussing the findings of the assessment in at least four (4) of the eight (8) assessment areas (use APA format: title page, introduction (describes the value of the ISA to your work and life), body of the paper with headings in bold that match the assessments chosen, and a conclusion; no citations or reference page necessary, unless other sources are utilized beside the assessment website; 1st person is fine for this paper). The paper will also describe one or more significant personal life experiences that the student believes had a major impact upon defining his/her leadership qualities and leadership style. There are no right or wrong conclusions. The grade will be based on content relevance, clarity of communication, and general writing competence, not in terms of what leadership style the assessment tool indicates one has.
