First, create a poster about your Quality Improvement Project:
Research posters catch reader’s attention and make key information understandable.
Research posters display important information at conferences.
Posters usually summarize key findings of a research or lab project.
A poster should tell the story of the project and provide the audience with a snapshot of the project’s key points or features.
Poster displays at exhibits or special events need to be easily readable from a distance.
Plan your poster in such a way that your readers will know how to read in sequence (if sequence matters). Don’t be afraid to use numbers or other navigational cues to help people along.
Your poster should do the following:
Display the topic of the project and your name and title.
Articulate the aim statement.
Identify two concepts. Choose the most important change concepts you identified.
Identify the family of measures: one outcome measure, two process measures, and one balancing measure. Choose the most important measures you identified.
Visually display the data in a histogram, scatter diagram, cause-and-effect chart, or flowchart. Make sure the information is readable.
Identify the implications and impact of the project, including consequences, questions that may be raised, limitations, and how the results may influence next steps in terms of adapting, adopting, or abandoning. Include whether to adapt (change your intervention), adopt (implement as is), or abandon it (no implementation).
