Students are to write a case study about an individual with a sexual dysfunction. The sections of the paper that are required are:
The Problem: A descriptive essay identifying the sexual dysfunction. Example of behavior and comments by the individual case are to be described. Be careful to include examples that fit the diagnosis you will provide.
The Diagnosis: Name a specific sexual disorder and it’s symptoms. Use terms from the DSM V (Diagnostic Statistical Manual Edition Five), provided on the course homepage.
The Justification: Possible causes of the dysfunction will be provided for all eight theoretical schools, being careful to use terms appropriate for each theoretical school. Those schools are listed on the course homepage found by clicking the link “Theoretical Schools”.
The Prognosis: Possible treatments for the dysfunction will be described for all eight of the theoretical schools, being careful to name a specific therapeutic technique and describe the goals of that therapy.
An example of a completed paper is provided on the course home page. Follow the form of the example but do not use the content as that would be ‘plagiarism’. The paper must be your own work.
The paper can be submitted early for feedback, in the form of a rough draft. Both the draft and the completed paper must be submitted using the course messaging system. Paper will not be accepted from email where anyone can copy your work.
