Research Paper (due 11/22)
You will write a research paper that explores a facet of counseling and human development that is pertinent to the character profiled in the Life Stage Intervention Presentation described above. This paper should present findings drafted in the academic literature that address counseling theory, practices, and outcomes related to the population which the selected character represents. Each paper must cite at least five peer-reviewed academic papers and must be written in proper APA format.
You should work with your fellow team members to ensure that your team’s papers combine to provide an in-depth look at the character you select. For example, a team might choose to present Matilda, who is the title character of a novel, movie, and Broadway musical. Individual team members might then write papers that focus on counseling needs and developmental concerns of a) children exposed to neglect and abuse in the family of origin; b) children placed into the foster care system; c) gifted and talented children; d) children adopted post-infancy.
Each of these topics relate to Matilda, and papers addressing each topic may be found in the academic literature.
