Drawing primarily on contemporary evidence from the academic research literature (e.g., peer reviewed studies and literature reviews published after 2010 – mix of Australian & other countries) you will write an essay which addresses the following criteria:
PART A
* Intoduction to the essay clearly indicating the chosen population and mental illness, and providing a compelling rationale for why this topic is of significance. Your rationale should be supported by reference to contemporary evidence from the academic literature.
* Using the biopsychosocial model, critically discuss the factors that may contribute to the development of the selected mental illness.
* Explain how the mental health condition may impact the health and wellbeing of indivduals in your chosen population.
PART B
Applying the principles of mental health recovery
* Critically discuss how nurses working in a biomedical health system can apply the principles of mental health recovery when caring for people from your chosen population group from section A.
* Within your discussion you should highlight enablers and barriers to the use of a recovery-oriented approach that nurses will encounter.
* Succinct conclusion to the essay which summarises the main arguments.
* In-text citations and the reference list must be formatted according to APA 7th Style Guides.
