Directions from the instructor The goal is for you to be able to express understanding of these concepts, and see how you would react when faced with certain situations which come up in nursing homes. The format in which you answer these is flexible. Some can be answered via essay, others via bullet points, etc. As long as you are able to express understanding of the concepts, and processes to follow in order to deal with each scenario. The course is based on the book The Principles of Health Care Administration by Joseph Townsend. The book covers the different aspects of long-term facility and nursing home care administration.
 The textbook has been, and still serves as a reference for administrators and covers domains such as the physical environment of the building, leadership skills, accounting and finance aspects of the business, Human Resources, resident care, and many others.
