Mission Statement
Most organizations, including those within the forensic psychology field, develop a mission statement. A mission statement demonstrates an organization’s goals and its intended direction. Some organizations publish their mission statement on their website or in other highly visible areas such as the entrance to their facilities. Many organizations also formalize their mission statements and incorporate them into official documents and regulations. Having a mission statement helps employees gain a better appreciation of the organization’s goal(s). Understanding the mission and goals of your field experience setting as well as how you contribute to them will help guide your work throughout your field experience.
Note: It is highly recommended that you set up a meeting with someone who is familiar with your field experience setting’s mission statement. If a mission statement does not exist for your field experience setting, select an organizational setting that is similar to your field experience setting from which you can easily obtain a mission statement.

I will be shadowing mental health professionals in the inpatient behavioral Unit area as well as in the Partial Hospitalization services area. These will allow me to have a very diverse experience as to patient management in terms of the degree of disfunctionality that their current behavioral manifestation is causing them. With those needing closer observation and assistance vs with those needing less. I think that comparison is an essential element to my field experience practice and for my proffesional development.

Forensic Psychology
Forensic psychology fits the pictures because just as forensic psychologists our staff at ou mental health clinics strive to provide an unbiased service to patients whether criminal , victim, drug use/abuse and dependence patient , and regardless of social status and income . Just as in forensic psychology the main goal.is to doagnose/ grasp the pathophysiology of the illness make the aptie t aware of when/ where her perceptions/thoughts constructs and behaviors began taking place and pffer alternatives to help.in their modifocation so that patients can better adapt to current psiscosocial stressors and be more functional/ integrated socially and more self sufficient. In following paragraphs I add an excerpt of forensic psychology roles; “In fact, they offer their expertise on many legal matters, including the mental state of criminal defendants. They may be called in to examine and determine whether a defendant should be declared incompetent to stand trial or receive a reduced sentence due to temporary insanity Similarly, they advise on jury selection, child custody and family law, violence risk prediction, mediation and dispute resolution, discrimination, civil damages social science research, and civil commitment – where individuals with symptoms of severe mental illness are ordered by a court into treatment. Some forensic psychologists work in the area of threat assessment, an emerging science predicting who may be at risk of committing a violent act. And others help select police officers and train first responders. Ultimately, forging the
Connection between psychology and the justice system is what they do best. Psychologists in this field may work in prisons, rehabilitation centers, police Departments, courthouses, law firms, schools, government agencies or private Practices. They are needed to determine whether a suspected criminal has a Mental illness, for example, and are called upon to treat incarcerated individuals
With substance abuse and addiction issues.Their work also spans important legal activities that involve minors. They help children in suspected abuse cases to process and communicate their Experiences truthfully and accurately, and may prepare them to testify in court or child custody disputes. Research is a key component of a career in forensic psychology and public service, and it comes in several forms. Forensic and public service psychologists might study criminal behavior to determine common traits among types of perpetrators. This might involve interviewing criminals, along with their loved ones and even victims. They also often study crime scenes and evaluate evidence left behind (or the lack thereof)to develop a profile of a particular criminal and narrow a list of suspects Forensic and public service psychologists also take the stand in court to eexplain possible motives behind a crime or whether they feel a defendant is guilty based on what they know about his or her behavioral history. As a result, they may influence a criminal’s sentencing.”(APA, n.d.). So my point is a forensic psychologists for so to say may serve as that last knotch to help intertwining several social elements for the more efficient decision making, conflict mediation and the point I wish to make is that it may a serve as well as a mediator for synchronizing several important elements in patient care of different patient populations whether it is the victim or the perpetrator .

Operationalized Mission Statement
Without action, words are empty. Simply creating a mission statement does not guarantee progress or success. A good mission statement goes beyond words and becomes part of day-to-day operations. For this week’s Journal Entry, you consider whether the mission statement for your field experience setting is reflected in its day-to-day operations.
The assignment (300–600 words):
Write a journal entry that includes the following:
An explanation of the relevance of the mission statement in your field experience setting.
An explanation of if and how it is operationalized and reflected in the setting’s day-to-day operations.
Include specific examples that show how it is or is not operationalized in day-to-day operations.
Note: If your setting does not have an existing mission statement and you have chosen another organizational setting’s mission statement, explain how it might be operationalized and reflected in your field experience setting if adopted.
Support your Journal Entry with specific references to all resources used in its preparation. You are asked to provide a reference list for all resources, including those in the Learning Resources for this course.
